Cervino Matterhorn Ultra Race
The Cervino Matterhorn Ultra Race is an extraordinary ultra-trail event that spans 173 kilometers with a massive 11,550 meters of elevation gain. Set in the Alps of northern Italy, this ultra challenges runners with its steep ascents, technical ridgelines, and high-altitude passages. The race passes beneath the iconic Matterhorn, offering breathtaking views while simultaneously requiring runners to be well-prepared for the thin air and the technical difficulties of glacial and rocky terrain. The 55 km race, with 3,800 meters of elevation gain, provides a more condensed yet equally scenic challenge, while the 28 km option is a great introduction to high-altitude trail running, featuring 2,600 meters of climbing. Other events, including the relay and shorter races, ensure that there’s something for every level of trail runner.
