Montreux Trail Festival

The Montreux Trail Festival is a week-long trail festival taking place in the Swiss Alps in the canton of Vaud, with its base camp at the famous city of Montreux, on the shores of Lake Geneva.
The festival restructured their routes and now has 6 main races: Crossing Switzerland (390km, 24000m), Crossing Alps (100 miles, 9990m), Crossing Highlands (110km, 5440m), Crossing Sarina (70km,, 3800m), Crossing Riviera (32km, 1900m), and a fun night race called Freddie’s Night (15km, 950m), a race in memory of Queen singer Freddy Mercury, who loved Montreux, and played at the famed Montreux Jazz Festival. “Bring your costumes or your mustaches, Freddie is waiting for a night of fun and madness that will end late at night in the bars of Montreux!,” say the race organizers.
Finally, Montreux offers a family relay race, MXFAMILY (1 km + 31 km with 1900 meters of climbing), and a separate race for children, MXKids 2km kids. This event offers, “An atmosphere of sports, music and culinary delights, whether you are a runner or a spectator.”
“Our team has decided to take a sabbatical in 2025, in order to prepare a 9th edition that’s just right for you. With the energy we’ll have accumulated during this break, there’s no doubt that the event will be a memorable one! See you on July 25-27, 2026 on the shores of Lake Geneva and in the Vaud Alps.
We wish you an excellent trail season 2025 and see you all back in 2026 !
