Trail de l’Aminona

The Trail de l’Aminona invites runners to explore the alpine landscapes above the famed ski resort, Crans-Montana, where sweeping meadows, rocky ridgelines, and panoramic views over the Rhône Valley make for a memorable race course. This event highlights the natural beauty of Switzerland’s Valais canton, offering a mix of technical trails, steady climbs, and rewarding descents.
The longest challenge, the Aminona 25, covers 25 kilometers with 1,519 meters of elevation gain, leading runners to the Cave du Scex, deep into the high mountains, where silence is broken only by the sound of your own foot falls, the wind and distant marmots. The Aminona 17 is a 17 kilometer course with 1,115 meters of climbing, and offers a blend of challenge and scenery with dramatic views of the Cascade de la Tièche. A third offering is a shorter yet demanding 8 kilometer route, gaining 387 meters in elevation as it winds through forests and open pastures. Here’s a course for younger trail runners– aged 13 and over can take part.
Finally, there’s a “Squirrels Race” for children aged 4-12 which ranges in distance from 500 meters to 1.5 kilometers, so that the whole family can race!
With its breathtaking setting and well-crafted routes, the Trail de l’Aminona is a celebration of mountain running, welcoming both seasoned competitors and those eager to discover the joys of trail racing in the heart of Valais.
