Trail du Tour des Fiz
Facing Mont Blanc, on the north side of the Arve Valley, the limestone cliffs of the Fiz mountain chain will charm you with exhilarating trails and views of Mont Blanc. There are various distances (also known by the number of mountain huts on the route!) with a new ultra-distance for 2020 – the Ultra Tour des Fiz. This race for pairs is on more technical and exposed terrain and takes place over two days, including a night in a mountain hut. The exact route is only revealed the night before the race. The original race, the Tour des Fiz 64km (‘eight refuges’) is the longest continuous race in the range. This follows a multi-day hiking circuit though the two natural reserves of Passy and Sixt. The Petit Tour des Fiz (31km or ‘five refuges’), starts and ends in the ski station of Plaine-Joux. Runners appreciate the varied and undeveloped feeling of the alpine landscape – and the great hospitality along the way. The 24km Duo des Fiz sees pairs of runners starting at sunset to undertake a lower-level route, mostly in forest. The Balcons des Fiz (15km) is offered for younger or beginner trail runners, with two loops around the ski station of Plaine-Joux. This intro race should tempt competitors to return for more next year.
