The Ultra Montée des Posettes is the latest addition to the Chamonix Valley’s renowned calendar of trail events, hosted by the Chamonix Mont Blanc Marathon Club, a valley staple since 1980. Departing from the charming mountain village of Vallorcine, perched next to the French-Swiss border, this new race is designed for true vertical aficionados—those who embrace the masochistic joy of relentless climbing, all while surrounded by the pastoral alpine beauty of the region.
A pure uphill challenge, the Ultra Montée des Posettes offers runners the choice of 2-, 4-, or 6-hour formats. With lift-served descents (yes—no punishing downhill required), competitors can focus entirely on testing their uphill limits. There’s something here for everyone, from the curious first-timer to the seasoned vertical hunter.
Adding to the festive spirit, this inaugural edition coincides with Vallorcine’s annual Fête du Village, promising a vibrant, celebratory atmosphere. Limited to 400 participants, the event ensures an intimate and convivial experience—one destined to become a marquee fixture in the Valley’s trail running scene.
