About the race

Perched on a sunny plateau with sweeping views of the Alps, Villars is a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering pristine trails, alpine meadows, and year-round access to mountain adventures. The Villars Ultraks trail races consist of four courses that take runners deep into the heart of the pre-alp region of the Swiss Alps.

The longest event, the Argentine, covers 50 kilometers with 3,100 meters of elevation gain, guiding participants over rugged terrain and through alpine landscapes. The Roc covers 29 kilometers with 1,900 meters of ascent, with varied terrain. For those seeking a more moderate distance, the Cham offers 21 kilometers with 1,200 meters of vertical gain, still packed with rewarding climbs and stunning views.

Finally, the Verticale is a classic vertical-kilometer course, though a bit less steep than a standard “VK,” which covers 1,000 meters in 5 km or less. This course takes 6.5 kilometers to climb 900 meters—certainly a good choice for those who thrive on steep ascents.
