Via Valais 2024

First, Stephanie and the team at Run The Alps were amazing! They answered all of our questions, gave us tips to get us through, and were responsive while in the middle of the trail. Great job!

Via Valais was tough. We did our best to prepare for the elevation gain living in the Southeast U.S. but it made it difficult to prepare for the elevation gain and declines each day. That being said, we got through the stages with extra breaks and a little less running than we planned on.

Why

I read about Via Valais in a magazine and I was excited about the challenge.

Advice

We wish we would have hiked more big inclines and did less running. I used Garmin for routing and I recommend looking at the ascent/descent chart in My Courses to get a better idea of what you face each day. Wish the huts could be avoided.

Highlight

The variance of terrain was amazing and getting through the challenge each day.
