Our Partners
The Company We Keep
Here at Run the Alps trip we couldn’t do what we do without great partners. From the gear we rely on, to those who provide our trail nutrition and training programs, our partners are a big part of the Run the Alps experience. Thanks, everyone!
ALPSinsight
ALPSinsight is the creation of Dan and Janine Patitucci of Patitucci Photo. Their stunning photos of mountain sports in the Alps, combined with great storytelling, makes for one of the most compelling, informative and lively Alps sports websites going. Run the Alps is both a content and booking partner with ALPSinsight.
Alpinehikers
Working with the talented and knowledgeable team at Alpinehikers, we’re able to create some of the best trail running trips in the Alps. Troy and his staff are experts in the travel business!
Big Mountain Brewing Co.
Located in the heart of Chamonix, Big Mountain Bar is the place to hang out after a trail run in the Chamonix valley.
The Bar is the Chamonix headquarters for Big Mountain Brewing Company – and we don’t know a better brewery, period. Big Mountain specializes in craft beers, and is an important part of our Run the Alps world, whether it’s the welcome beer we share with our guests at The Hub, the beers we pass around on our trail running tours, or at our end of the season staff party high above the Chamonix valley.
Run the Alps is also a proud partner of Big Mountain Trail Club whose monthly runs happen on the last Wednesday of every month from spring through fall. If you’re in the valley during that time, plan to make it. It’s a great way to meet friends old and new!
Broken Arrow Skyrace
The Broken Arrow Skyrace is one of the US’s preeminent gatherings of trail runners, and Run the Alps is a proud partner. Each year in Tahoe, California, the European-inspired event features no fewer than eight races, including a vertical race and a via ferrata race course! We love this event, and the inclusive, fun vibe the organizers have created.
Leave No Trace
All of us at Run the Alps are firm believers in the 7 Leave No Trace Principles. We aim to minimize our impact on our environment at every stage of our tours, which is part of our goal to have a Net Positive Social and Environmental Impact.
Mammoth Trail Festival
Conceived, created and organized each year by Run the Alps friend Tim Tollefson, the Mammoth Trail Festival is, well, just that– a mammoth festival. Tim’s enthusiasm and energy are evident throughout the races, events, films and much more. It’s also part of Salomon’s Golden Trail World Series. We are so happy to partner with this wonderful new event.
Moody Coffee Roasters
It’s a fact: trail runners love great coffee. And in Chamonix, there’s just one place to get it: at Moody Coffee Roaster. A specialty coffee roaster and cafe located at 195 Avenue L’Aiguille du Midi, Moody is run by our friends, Ian and Georgina. They are experts in their craft, roast fresh coffee each week for customers from around the world. They also feature wonderful home-baked treats, beans to go, and more. Moody Roasters help keep Run the Alps staff, guides, friends and our guests at The Hub Chamonix fuelled and ready to run.
Moonvalley
Mimmi Kotka, Chamonix-based friend of Run the Alps, set up Moonvalley with two other Swedish trail running athletes, Ida Nilsson and Emelie Forsberg. Our guides and guests eat their bars all summer – they’re vegan, organic and very tasty!
On
On is a partner in Run the Alps’ Hub, Chamonix and we’re long-time friends with On athlete, Meg Mackenzie.
Based in Switzerland, this forward-thinking brand has grown rapidly since they started in 2010. We like the way they work to reduce their carbon footprint in both operations and production, for example using recycled materials to make their shoes.
One Percent for the Planet
At Run the Alps, we believe we all need to be stewards of the environment. Joining One Percent is one way we can help. We’re proud to be a corporate member of this pioneering organization.
Paradis Sport
Salomon
Salomon continues to live and work on the cutting edge of trail running shoes and gear. Our Salomon friends range from their US offices in Ogden, Utah, to their world headquarters in Annecy, France. We admire their efforts to advance trail running and trail racing, including Salomon Advanced Week and Salomon Running TV.
Tailwind
Tailwind makes it incredibly easy to get the electrolytes and calories we need on long runs. Of course we’ll still stop for a Tarte aux Myrtilles at a refuge, but also having handy sachets of Tailwind means we won’t end up flagging on a long run.
Trail Butter
Jeff and Brad Boggess have created one of our favorite trail running foods. Trail Butter is healthy, nutritious, tasty… and gives you plenty of power for the miles ahead. We haul a delivery over at the start of each season for our clients!
Trail Running Film Festival
Run the Alps is proud to be an official partner of the Trail Running Film Festival, which features some of the best short trail running films from around the world each year. The global tour travels to dozens of locations, and the festival is available virtually, too.
How did we get here? What Run the Alps has Taught me over Ten Years
As Run the Alps celebrates its 10th Anniversary, Founder Doug Mayer looks back on the journey.
Mirnavator in the Alps
Smart, funny, endearing, our special guest Mirna Valerio also shatters trail running stereotypes. We can’t wait to run with “the Mirnavator” in the Alps!
Chamonix Topo Cap
Designed from scratch with friends here in Chamonix, we love our Run the Alps cap!
