Who We Are: 2024 in Photos

Dec 24, 2024

Here at Run the Alps, our mission is simple. We exist to share our love of trail running in the Alps, helping others find fun, adventure, and fulfillment. Each day, we do our best to enable, celebrate, and steward trail running in the Alps.

Run the Alps celebrated its 10th anniversary this year! After another superb summer of running, our founder Doug Mayer took a look back on his own journey to Chamonix, the evolution of the company, and the lessons he learned along the way. You can read that story here.

There’s snow here in the Chamonix valley now, and we’re trading trail running shoes for nordic and randonnée skis. Another year is coming to an end, and we’re taking the moment to reflect on our values.

Run the Alps is committed to bringing to life our five core values

  • Inclusivity: We believe everyone should feel welcome in the trail running community. We celebrate diversity, build partnerships, and aim to foster community spirit through shared experiences.
  • Challenge: We believe getting out of your comfort zone is a good thing. We seek to challenge our guests and ourselves, expanding personal boundaries and helping us all develop new perspectives.
  • Camaraderie: We believe in the power of mutual support. There’s nothing better than cheering each other up a hill and sharing a blueberry tart at the top.
  • Net Positive: We believe we have a responsibility to leave the world a better place than we found it. We act responsibly, in order to have a net-positive impact on the lives we touch and the physical environments and communities in which we operate.
  • Fun: We believe we could all do with a little more fun in our lives. We strive to keep things lighthearted, infusing the trail running community with laughter and joy.

Rather than fill your screen with thousands of words, we thought we’d explore how we bring those core values to life, through images. So, we’ve collected a handful of our favorite photos from this past trail running season that we think share our values.
