Miss Our Laugh-Out-Loud visit with Hillary Gerardi? Here’s your chance to catch it.

Apr 26, 2021

Vertical Kilometer. Baguette. Chevy. Peugeot. Solitude. Uphill. American diner breakfast. Dogs. Kilian Jornet.

Those were some of the answers in our rapid-fire Q&A segment yesterday during our Rendez-Vous with Black Diamond Athlete and Run the Alps Ambassador Hillary Gerardi.

And, well, it was a lot of fun.

It was a total, laugh-out-loud blast!

Just what is a Run the Alps Rendez-Vous? It’s a chance for you to join us live in the Alps for conversations with special guests from the unique Alps trail running community.

Mont Blanc in the clouds behind her, Chamonix’s Hillary Gerardi talked technical trail running, life in France, and the new Haute Route ski mountaineering record she and ski partner Valentine Fabre recently established. (Photo: Dave Thexton.)

A Skyrunning champ, Hillary has set course records on wildly technical trail races around the world, and with Valentine Fabre, she recently established a women’s record for skiing the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, Switzerland.

We covered all the bases— how she and her husband Brad arrived in France a decade ago, how an accident in Chamonix changed the course of her trail running career, the ins and outs of the trail running scene here (hint: almost no one runs uphill), and so much more.

Enjoy two memorable moments below— our rapid-fire round of questions, and a surprise at the very end of the evening.

Thanks to all of you who joined us from around the world. It was great to have you all with us here in Chamonix.
