Description

Facing Mont Blanc, on the north side of the Arve Valley above Passy, the limestone cliffs of the Fiz mountain chain will charm you with exhilarating trails and views of Mont Blanc.

There are various distances (also known by the number of mountain huts on the route!) with the Tour des Fiz 61km (‘eight refuges’) as the longest race in the range. This follows a multi-day hiking circuit though the two natural reserves of Passy and Sixt. This race can be run solo or as a relay team.

The Petit Tour des Fiz (30km or ‘five refuges’), starts and ends in the ski station of Plaine-Joux. Runners appreciate the varied and undeveloped feeling of the alpine landscape – and the great hospitality along the way.

The Balcons des Fiz (15km) is offered for younger or beginner trail runners, with two loops around the ski station of Plaine-Joux. This intro race should tempt competitors to return for more next year.

Lastly, the Vertical de Platé begins in the village of Plateau d’Assy and after 1000m of climbing you reach the finish line at the the Refuge de Platé, nestled high on the limestone plateau at 2100m.
