Less is more—it’s always true. Insulated bottles seem to be one of the worst offenders. Our staff has a stack of plastic ones kicking around that leak or don’t insulate well.
We wanted one we could use all year-‘round, that would never end up in a landfill.
We found just what we wanted in our 20-ounce, brushed stainless-steel water bottle from Klean Kanteen. Made from sturdy 18/8 food-grade stainless steel, ours will last through the years without gathering gunk or imparting flavors, whether you’re toting a little vin chaud, or hot spiced wine, on a winter ski tour through the Alps, Tailwind mix after a long race, or the local high-test from your neighborhood café for an early morning drive to a trailhead.
Our Run the Alps logo is laser-etched for an understated look. On the flip side is the 1% for the Planet logo, reflecting the values of both Run the Alps and Klean Kanteen, who are both members of the environmental organization started by Patagonia’s Yvon Chouinard. We’ve selected a stainless steel and bamboo cap, to fully eliminate plastic.
Our Run the Alps bottle is unpainted, so it’s easy to clean—and easy to recycle when that distant day arrives.
Chamonix trail runner Georgina Fitzgerald is seen here outside her home near the village of St. Gervais, France, starting point for climbs up Mont Blanc. In the distance is the Mont Blanc massif.
