
Tour Grant Application and Agreement

Application
To apply for a Run the Alps Tour Grant, please send an email to tourgrants@runthealps.com with the information requested below by March 15th, 2025.
A short essay will make up the bulk of your application. If writing is a challenge for you, you can submit your essay in video format to the same email address. It doesn’t need to be a polished video, and should be less than 5 minutes. We won’t ask for specific proof of financial need or the barrier(s) you have encountered. Instead, you are welcome to explain them in your application and use supporting examples as you like. We trust that you will be honest in the information you provide.
All applications will be reviewed in confidence by the Tour Grants selection committee, which is made up of two members of the Run the Alps staff and one external advisor. If the committee has any questions about your application they will reach out to you in March. If you are awarded a grant, you’ll be asked to sign our Grant Agreement, which you can find below, outlining our mutual commitments.
We will contact you to let you know our decision on your application by the end of March.

- Who are you, and why do you want to take part in a Run the Alps trip?
- What obstacles have you encountered in trail running? (For example, financial hurdles, barriers to access, lack of representation, lack of skills, knowledge, and/or confidence.)
- What impact could a tour grant have on you and/or your community?
- All self-guided tours and guided tours, excluding those with guest, runners are eligible for grants, as space allows. If you have a preference, please list 3 trips in which you would be interested in participating. If you don’t have a preference, please let us know what level trip(s) you’d like to participate in. We will do our best to match you with one of your preferred trips.
- What size grant would you need to make a Run the Alps trip possible?
- Up to $1,000
- $1,000-2,000
- $2,000-3,000
- Full cost of the trip.
- Do you need any additional material support to make a Run the Alps trip possible, such as trail running gear?
- How did you find out about Run the Alps Tour Grant Program?
- Optional: Is there anything else you’d like to share with us? (For example, links that will allow us to learn more about you, such as your social media, and/or LinkedIn profiles, and/or articles that have been written about you).
Grant Agreement
The Run the Alps Tour Grant Program is based on mutual trust. All grant recipients will be asked to sign this agreement before participating in our program.
Run the Alps commits to:
- Trust the information shared in your application.
- Not approach this grant program as an exchange – this grant has nearly no strings attached (Please see your commitment below).
- Not to use you, your participation in a trip, or photos of you, for our communication unless you have given permission in advance.
- Keep your grant application and status confidential, unless you have given us permission to share information in advance.
We ask you to commit to:
- Be honest about your needs and the barriers you face
- Participate in a brief tour exit interview giving us feedback about the application process and your trip experience.
- Provide a brief post-tour statement of no more than 500 words that will be used internally at Run the Alps. This will not be used for external communication unless you give us permission.
- Help foster an inclusive trail running community in the Alps, and to be open and respectful of the cultures you visit.
