Run the Alps with guides Becki and Heather was gorgeous, challenging, fun, exciting, breathtaking and relaxing. As guides, they are excellent and experienced trail runners, thoughtful leaders and ready for anything. They will take care of everyone in the pack, from fastest to slowest.
The hotels and food were outstanding. Breakfasts…ummmm breakfasts, with fresh milk, butter, cheese, bread, fruits, eggs, muesli–the best part of the day.
As long as my legs will have me running, I’ll be dreaming of my next trip with Run the Alps.
Why
We wanted a trip that had good distance, high altitude and could accommodate various running experiences. The Bernese Oberland was perfect. Views were stunning, running/hiking was strenuous but doable, guides were experienced, knowledgeable and fun!
Advice
Plan on being out all day, taking advantage of all the opportunities available. Bring an extra pair of running shoes to swap out when the first pair is soggy and/or flat (I meant to, but forgot and wished I had).
Highlight
The climb up to the Eiger face and views from there...and passing by the fat and happy cows on most days. As an aside, the Via Ferrata route out of Mürren to Gimmelwald is epc!
