A bit about me

I am passionate about nature and I love to share the opportunity to connect with nature and by doing so, connect with our natural essence, too. I’m also passionate about sports: I push my limits through trail races, and by hanging on the side of a mountain, climbing multi-pitch routes.  I also like to discover new landscapes and simply spend time alone in the wilderness, exploring and observing life.

My other life

I am a graduate of a business school in Paris and I’m responsible for communications at the International Trail Association (ITRA). I am also a theater actress and have performed in a number of plays over the years.

In my free time

I spend my time discovering new trails and exploring new peaks. I also work on a French nature podcast and train for trail races. I love kayaking, surfing, cooking, dancing, music, culture… and sharing these experiences with my friends.

Fun fact

I have my own dictionary of French words that I love teaching to my friends. I speak to my plants and I count trees as some of my good friends.

Favorite Alp trail run

I love going to La Jonction, where the glaciers meet at 2589m, high above the Chamonix valley. It’s a great hike up from the valley floor. When you reach the top, you don’t even notice the panoramic view at first, as your eyes are glued to the ice crevasses and seracs cracking in the glacier in front of you! It’s a magical, impressive place. I love to go in the evening before it gets dark.

What our guests had to say

Astrid Renet was amazing, both as a guide and an individual.

Astrid has an awesome personality. Encouraging and giving helpful tips, checking in to make sure I was taking my nutrition during a run. She stayed with the group, running with both faster and slower runners.
