Reviews of Run the Alps Guided and Self-Guided Trips
I just wanted to mention how incredible everything has been so far and how pleased we are with the organization of the trip, and with how seamless the logistics have been. It’s such a pleasure to just go with the flow. Thank you so much!
Recently returned from the Tour du Mont Blanc and I have to say it was an amazing trip. Doug and his crew do a phenomenal job of making sure every detail is taken care of for you. We were blessed to have Alister guide us through the beautiful mountains. His knowledge is incredible and his love of the mountains and his job was obvious from day one. Quit debating and sign up for one of the Run the Alps Tours – you will not regret it!
Absolutely loved the tour! Great guide and great fellow runners. The trip proved to be very adaptable to needs of the individuals. Accommodation and food was exceptional too. Highly recommended!
I had such a great time. It really was the best of everything from Vic’s beginner trail running tips and diverse trail options, to hearing about Brian Tinder and Rob Krars’ training tips. You all have been such a help all along the way in prepping and in learning all about trail running and the Alps in general. Thank you! I hope to be back in the future. Meanwhile, I’ll be following all the social media! : )
Thank you Run the Alps!!! I can’t say enough about all your guidance and support. Fantastic race, beautiful course, amazing villages. I’ll be back.
I had the time of my life! Thank you, Run the Alps, for making this possible. Thank you especially to our guide, Alister. I would definitely recommend this adventure to all trail running enthusiasts.
There aren’t enough thank yous that I could express for your support with our amazing travels across the Swiss Alps. Every trail offered a different and beautiful view of the Alps. The Alps trail race was the best adventure we had ever experienced. I wouldn’t change any moment of it. It’s all worth the story to tell. Thank you!
Not sure a better vacation for the running enthusiast exists! I just finished the Tour du Mont Blanc tour and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to combine their passion for running with travel. Everyone in the company was so helpful and kind every step of the way. The convenience of having everything planned seamlessly for you is perfect for those overwhelmed at attempting the trek alone, though there are options for self-guided tours as well.
Our guide seemed to know the trails and history like the back of his hand. That created a unique experience you wouldn’t otherwise get. The hotels each held their own charm, the food was beautiful, the views were beyond spectacular, and Doug, with his enthusiasm for all things trail running related has created something truly special with Run the Alps.
I had a fabulous trip and I enjoyed that the group was small. I think Alex was a terrific guide and I would go on a tour again with her in a heartbeat.
Run the Alps took care of everything, so we could just focus on running and enjoying the mountains. Thank you!
The tour was very well organized. Alister was a wonderful guide, and I had a great time running. The amount of running each day was perfect! I enjoyed having some time in the afternoons and evenings to either explore town or simply just relax.
Simon is a great guide – very experienced and funny. He had a lot of good energy and advice, along with a few stories. He took turns out front, and also taking up the back. He was flexible and positive. I really enjoyed doing a trail race in the Alps too. Run the Alps did a great job preparing us for the trip, and they were very responsive on email. Thank you to everyone!
This was the most stress-free vacation I’ve ever had. Everything was planned meticulously for us. Pretty much all we had to do was show up and start running. The choices for the hotels and inns were perfect. We enjoyed each of them and the amazing rooms you chose for us. Really can’t say enough good things about that. The detailed routes were also fantastic and easy to follow.
Thanks again for an amazing trip. I’m looking forward to planning a trip again next year. You guys are simply awesome.
This trip was incredible. I loved coming somewhere I’d never been with a step-by-step how-to guide navigate the way, both in town and on the trails. I loved it all!
Simon was fantastic. He really made the trip: He kept us informed on where we were going, kept us on schedule, but with enough café stops to keep it relaxed. He introduced us to all the best places to get a beer and he kept us entertained but gave us some space as well. The perfect guide. Truly impressive, as it was a range of personalities and he managed all of our expectations so we all had a fantastic trip. He also has really great stories to tell, so is one entertaining dude. And if you ever ran into trouble, you know his years of training would have you covered as an added bonus.
The staff at Run the Alps were very thoughtful and responsive. Our guide, Bruno, offered a full complement of expertise and he’s a helluva nice guy, to boot. The run variety and territory was amazing.
The trip was excellent! I loved the freedom of running in the Alps. I loved the like-minded group – all enjoying working hard, cohesive, the Alpine environment, the conversations throughout the trip on a wide range of topics. I loved not having to make arrangements myself. I loved the trails itinerary – it was a good mix from valley to peak, great views, with a bit of historical information along the way, as well. Bruno set itineraries that were ambitious for me, and encouraged me to do them! Very Important: I chose this trip because of the flexibility in the itinerary. It turned out that I was able to do more than the minimum, but I would not have tried it if the itinerary was not presented with that flexibility.
I was thrilled to come across a running tour in the Alps, where the scenery is spectacular. It inspired me to explore and see as much as possible. It was good to have options and flexibility depending on what we felt like doing each day. I was worried my trail running fitness may not be quite up to par since I get frustrated being the weakest link, but I was never made to feel I was holding anyone up as we were all there to simply enjoy.
The guides, the scenery, the accommodation, the trails, the villages, the huts, the food, the organization of the trip before, during and after… everything exceeded my expectations.
The tours are top-notch with great food and accommodations, and the best and coolest guides I have ever encountered.
